FELT | British artist Lucy Sparrow just opened shop near the high line. Sort of. The shop, a replica of a typical New York bodega, is packed with everything you'd normally find, except made of felt. There's even a bodega cat! Everything (that's all 9,000 items) were hand-felted and are for sale, in store and online. (Gothamist)

DIMENSIONS | Rothy's is a new footwear company specializing in extremely comfortable women's flats. (NYT)

MACHINES | If we're thinking in terms of grids, the transition from knitting pattern to pixels isn't a very far stretch. What is a far stretch is sending an image file to the machine's operators and having said machine figure out how to make a garment. Which is what happened with Lindsay Degen (our illustrious covergirl!) collaborated with Kickstarter-obliterating knitting machine startup Kniterate. And somehow clothes still happened. Pretty amazing. (Make)
