Row 1 (RS) *K2, p2; rep from * to end.
Row 2 (WS) *P2, k2; rep from * to end. Repeat rows 1 and 2 until work measures 1.75” from cast on edge, ending with a WS row. Changing to larger needles.
Row 3 (RS) K20 (24, 26, 30, 34, 36, 36) CC3, K46 (68, 70, 74, 78, 84, 92) MC.
Row 4 (WS) K43 (65, 67, 71, 75, 81, 89) MC, K23 (27, 29, 33, 37, 39, 39) CC3.

Next Row (RS) Join MC and P32 (36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 48), join CC1 and P52 (56, 58, 64, 70, 76, 80). Cont in patt, working 3 more MC sts and 3 less CC1 sts until you have 7 (11, 13, 19, 19, 19, 23) CC1 and 77 (81, 83, 85, 93, 101, 105) MC. Cut both yarns.

Next Row (RS) Join CC3 and purl to end.

Next Row (WS) K84 (88, 90, 96, 102, 108, 114) CC3, join CC2 and K0 (4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14).

Next Row (RS) P4 (8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18) CC2, P80 (84, 86, 92, 98, 104, 110) CC3. Cont in patt, working 4 more CC2 sts and 4 less CC3 sts until you have 76 (80, 82, 84, 94, 96, 106) CC2 and 8 (12, 14, 20, 18, 24, 22) CC3. Cut both yarns.

Next Row (WS) Join MC and K24 (28, 30, 34, 38, 40, 42), join CC1 and K60 (64, 66, 70, 74, 80, 86). Cont in patt, working 4 more MC sts and 4 less CC1 sts until you have 8 (12, 14, 18, 22, 20, 22) CC1 and 76 (80, 82, 86, 90, 100, 106) MC.

SHAPE NECK

Next Row (WS) With MC, K34 (38, 40, 44, 47, 50, 54), BO16 (16, 16, 16, 18, 20, 20), K30 (30, 30, 30, 29, 34, 36) MC, K4 (8, 10, 14, 18, 16, 18) CC1. Place right side shoulder stitches on a holder.

LEFT SHOULDER

Row 1 (RS) P0 (4, 6, 10, 14, 12, 14) CC1, cut CC1. With MC, P until last 5 sts, p2tog, p3—1 sts dec.
Row 2 Continue with MC. K3, k2tog, K to end—1 sts dec.
Row 3 P until 5 sts remain, p2tog, p3—1 sts dec.
Row 4 K3, k2tog, k to end—1 sts dec.
Row 5 Work as for row 3—1 sts dec.
Row 6 Knit all.

Row 2 (WS) *K2, p2; rep from * to end. Repeat rows 1 and 2 until work measures 1.75” from CO edge, ending with a WS row. Follow pattern for Front from ** through ***.

Next Row (WS) K80 (84, 86, 90, 94, 104, 110) MC, K4 (8, 10, 14, 18, 16, 18) CC1.

Next Row (RS) P0 (4, 6, 10, 14, 12, 14) CC1, P84 (88, 90, 94, 98, 108, 114) MC.

Continue in reverse stockinette stitch, working 4 more MC sts and 4 less CC1 sts until you have replaced all CC1 with MC. Cut CC1 when needed. Continue until work measures 16 (16.5, 16.5, 17, 17.5, 18, 18.5)” from CO edge, ending with a RS (purl) row.

SHAPE BACK NECK

Next Row (WS) K33 (37, 39, 43, 46, 49, 53), BO18 (18, 18, 18, 20, 22, 22), K33 (37, 39, 43, 46, 49, 53). Place Left Back shoulder stitches on holder.

RIGHT BACK SHOULDER

Row 1 (RS) P until 5 sts remain, p2tog, p3—1 sts dec.
Row 2 (WS) K3, k2tog, K until end—1 sts dec.
Row 3 Work as for row 1—1 sts dec.
Row 4 Knit all.
Row 5 Work as for row 1—1 sts dec.
Row 6 Knit all.
Row 7 Work as for row 1—28 (32, 34, 38, 41, 44, 48) sts remain. Continue in reverse stockinette stitch until piece measures 17.5 (18, 18, 18.5, 19, 19.5, 20)” from cast on edge. With WRONG sides together, join Right Back Shoulder stitches with Right Front Shoulder stitches using 3 needle bind off method.

LEFT BACK SHOULDER

With RS facing, join MC to back left neck edge.

Row 1 (RS) P3, p2tog, p to end—1 sts dec.
Row 2 (WS) K to last 5 sts, k2tog, k3—1 sts dec.
Row 3 Work as for row 1—1 sts dec.
Row 4 Knit all.
Row 5 Work as for row 1—1 sts dec.
Row 6 Knit all.
Row 7 Work as for row 1—28 (32, 34, 38, 41, 44, 48) sts remain. Continue in reverse stockinette stitch until piece measures 17.5 (18, 18, 18.5, 19, 19.5, 20)” from CO edge. With WRONG sides together, join Left Back Shoulder stitches with Left Front Shoulder stitches using 3 needle bind off method.

FINISHING

Neck Band

With smaller needles, MC, and right side facing, pick up and knit 16 sts from left front neck edge, 18 (18, 18, 18, 20, 22, 22) from center front neck, 16 from right front neck, 8 from right back neck, 18 (18, 18, 18, 20, 22, 22) from center back neck, and 8 from left back neck—84 (84, 84, 84, 88, 92, 92) sts total. Join to work in the round. Work in K2 P2 rib until neck band measures 1.25” from pickup row. Bind off in pattern.

Place markers on the front and back side edges 6 (6, 6.5, 7, 8, 9, 9.5)” down from shoulder seam. Using mattress stitch, sew the side seams beginning at CO edges and work to markers, leaving top open for armholes.

Armhole Edges

With DPNS, CC2, and right side facing, pick up and knit 56 (56, 60, 64, 74, 84, 88) sts around armhole edge. Join for working in the round. Work in K1 P1 rib until armhole edge measures 1” from pickup row. Bind off. Repeat for second armhole. Weave in and and block gently.
