Issue 3 | COLD

Crafting very often means coziness and in the third issue of Knit Wit, we created a cold-weather vibe that suited the season—one of darkness outside and warmth inside. At Knit Wit HQ, we call this one “the spooky issue.” There’s a moody, ciarscuro pom-pom cornucopia story (you’ve got to trust us on this one—it’s amazing); a visit deep in the woods and pastures of Ashley Yousling's (Woolful) Idaho fiber farm. We talked to pattern designer Alice Hammer from her studio in Paris and took an overcast stroll through Nashville with knitwear designer Han StarnesThompson Street Studio’s founders interview each other about their shared process and we try to keep up with (or at least wrap our minds’ around) the incredible grit and work ethic of Duckworth’s sheep to shelf process. Meanwhile, in Toronto, Anabela Piersol of Fieldguided talks to Tara-Lynn Morrison of Good Night, Day and in Providence, Rhode Island, RISD senior Edith Young dissects why prints of the female form are all the rage. Plus, inspiring knitted editorials—including a hauntingly beautiful editorial from some creative witches in Poland—and our usual assortment of product and trend pieces.
