(over an odd number of sts)

Row 2 (WS) Rep row 1.
Rep rows 1 and 2 for seed st.

With MC, CO 151 sts using long tail cast on method.
Work in seed st for 12 rows. Work color sequence as follows:
*CC 6 rows, MC 6 rows; rep from * 9 times more.
With CC, work in pat for 6 rows. With MC, work in pat for 12 rows. Bind off knitwise.

Cut fringe in 16”/40.5cm strands: 66 of CC, and 84 of MC. Cut ties in 5”/13cm strands: 20 each of CC and MC.

Beginning on RS of bottom (shorter) edge of blanket, use crochet hook to thread fringe through border, one stitch in from edge. Larger MC sections get 12 strands of fringe, and each stripe gets 6 strands. Once threaded, end count is doubled, ie. each stripe now has 12 ends of fringe.

Using corresponding color ties and beginning 1” down from blanket border, knot fringe in 12 end bundles. Tie a double knot in the back and pull tight to hold in place. Cut tails. Beginning 6 ends in from edge, bundle together 6 ends of one color and 6 ends from another, creating a second, alternating row of knots. Tie knot as before, 1” down from first row.

Work to end of row, leaving 6 ends untied at final edge. Trim ends even, and repeat for top of blanket.
